Cities United 2017 Summit: Police-Involved Shootings and In-Custody Deaths

National Press Club – Washington, D.C.—In the wake of the new administration’s executive orders on public safety, mayors from across the country joined city and law enforcement leaders, along with youth, faith and community partners, for a summit on community violence, “Working Together to End Violence: Creating Safe, Healthy and Hopeful Communities,” an invitation-only action summit on March 21, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in Washington, D.C., at the National Press Club.

The summit addressed comprehensive, effective strategies to decrease community violence, and highlight how Mayors, cities and advocates are putting these strategies to work to end the cycle of violence.
